Who is using the SPACE NAVAGATOR 3D Mouse? Opinions?

This thread is devoted to users of the space navagator 3D mouse.

Although sometimes tricky to manipulate smoothly, certainly a useful tool for machinima makers.

Any pros or pans of this product?

It's on my holiday wish list! [Sings ""Santa baby" softly.]
Psst... There is a PE and SE model... I bought the more expensive one thinking it was better... Turns out they're the same but with a different licensing agreement...

Bottom line is... "BUY THE CHEAPER ONE"
hi list,
i'm working with that tool for over a year and i dont want to miss it.
mostly as onlyy cam tool - some times i'm stearing the ava with it too.
u really can make nice moves and its a perfect follow cam.
never use it for building - mouse is faster for me.
decreasing the volume of the axis, default vol is 2.0 in the setup, makes it very, very smooth. try 0.1
its always a good idea to set the axis to 0 which u dont want to use - esp. the roll should be kept on 0. put them to 1, if u like it spinning and the viewer gets dizzy or worth. -)
there s a good older mov from geuis - its worth watching to get an overview.

HEY! Sometimes under windlight, when I activate the space navagator and am using FRAPS, the lighting begins to flicker on my captures?

Does this happen to anyone else?
take off all HUDs - that helps - don't know why .-)

SpaceNavigator: "... is a six-axis controller that you use in conjunction with the mouse and keyboard. With it you can move around the model in three dimensions, intuitively and without changing from one mode to another (e.g. pan to rotate to zoom). You can also configure it to work in what ever fashion is easiest and most intuitive for you. With a little practice you can move through and around the model using the mouse and SpaceNavigator, never touching the keyboard."

Space navigator promotes a new way of looking at the world. the disembodied ,all seeing eye. spoooky O_o
On my pressie list too :)

For now, I use the kids Xbox 360 controller. Not sure how it compares, but the analogue controls can give some really smooth dolly shots.

The flickering is a known bug and has been reported by many. Two ways to stop it - switch off any huds OR switch all lights off except for sun and moon.
