How to Use this Group

In-world resources (like places to meet) are important tools for machinima.  This group is about facilitating the work of the Guild in-world. If you have questions or comments about how to use a viewer or another piece of software, please post to the Forums.

Hi everyone, I have been interested in Machinima for awhile now but was abit apprehensive because I don't have any experience and not alot of money to spend on expensive software programs and the best graphics cards and computer. Last night I decided to take the plunge and download the free wegame software and made a couple of videos in sl. Its very basic beginner stuff right now but I look forward to become more experienced in Machinima and making some great movies! Just wanted to say hello and say I'm glad to be here :)

Tomorrow we're doing an in-world premiere of Tikaf's "The Kiss" at the Machinima Tools building in Machinima SIM. This is the same location which houses the MAG parcel.

Does anyone have any full-permissions stuff they'd like to give me, which I can package to give to visitors? It would be nice if we could have a Guild-takeaway in-place.

Please comment to this thread:
or contact me via this site (or in-world).

I have a two-region estate (Machinima and NeoVictoria SIMs), and have carved a small parcel into Machinima SIM, so the Guild has an in-world location. Currently, the parcel only hosts a web-prim, but we can add more information and maybe some free tools, if the membership wants to create this content and give it to me to rezz.

Here are the spec's on the parcel:

Parcel Name: SL Machinima Artists Guild (M.A.G.) InfoHUB at NeoVictoria

The MAG is a thriving community where machinima producers, actors, directors & technicians collaborate. The membership ranges from people who are just starting to seasoned professionals. Join the SL Machinima Artists Guild today!

Hello everyone... Im new to the site and relatively new to makeing videos. I started on SL and am currently just "experimenting' with my camera work, editing and effects available to me in adobe... Comments, tips and suggestions welcome and if I can be of help... just drop me a message in world... I might be busy, cause I double as NoRSIM-LON General Manager as well.

Agreed Tikaf, Torley has some great stuff out there. Our own Natascha Randt has done some interesting tutorials also. Perhaps, "someone would like to form and maintain a group", called MACHINIMA TUTORIALS and embed a video for each one in the comment lines. It would be a start. Maybe later they could be categorized in some way :-)

A group Infohub like this in SL would be really worthwhile. Finding information is like a treasure hunt at the moment.

At one time Chantal had donated land and prims to this project, because nothing had been done she understandabley retracted her offer. It was Mescaline Tammas who first suggested the infohub and who accepted the responsibility of seeing the project through. Since that time I have heard nothing regarding progress or completion. I know that SL6B was made in only 2-3 days and was a success. I see no reason why this project could not be finished and maintained. Anyone who has the vision and time to invest in it has the full support of the Guild.
