Hi Soni, I am really interested to be part of your reviews about Spanish machinimas, I have been producing some virtual TV programs in Spanish for teachers who are interested in the use of virtual worlds as an educational tool, this kind of educators is my TV programs target group. Hi Soni, this sounds like a promising idea. Let me come back from the UK and talk with you privately... I'm about to be logged out of my Internet hour here.

Hypatia, I started a student chapter of machinima at my campus. Do you think there is interest at your campus?  I already contacted Lowe about this too with his affiliations in FL. I was wondering about doing some student online exhibition; it's a project that I have started awhile ago, and the book got in the way.  We could connect the students here to SL Guild.  They wouldn't have necessarily produce in SL, as mine don't necessarily.  But it would be a great forum.  I have run this idea through to a few international campus already last year.  I just got move it forward.  Any interest.   Nothing like fresh ideas from students - even non-trad students.   Open to all to respond!  :)  Soni

BTW, lest we overlook this wonderful online mag/blog, great work ASIL - a great tool for all to keep us updated!

thank you Asil again for the P-A-R-T-A-Y.  Lol.  And Hypatia, I love your students' work - and that is a testament to your teaching skill and love for machinima.  TY for the kind words.  I don't want to push my name out as much as the concept of machinima.  So when I can, I try not to make it about me.  lol.  But I am proud of the book, and all those who helped in so many ways.  First and foremost, I am a media educator.

Nice article, Soni.  You have (modestly) left out your own huge contribution to this book for which you are co-author. Congrats to both of you.  As for keeping the educational ball rolling, I used this book in my class on machinima this Spring. You may have seen my students' YouTube page?

Nat, Elf and Tikaf generously added comments, and I thank them again. (lol, this isn't a bid for you to do more work, I just wanted to show the communication of MAG and my students, two of whom joined and showed their films here.)

Just out - article in Best of SL Magazine (available as SL hard copy, and ONLINE p. 218, on Lowe's new book, Machinima: The Art and Practice of Virtual Filmmaking.  I got him to come out of his man production cave for an interview.  He was also interviewed with me by Gabrielle Riel of Radio Riel at the Book Launch party last month.  I think there is so much to offer here for people who are just getting started in machinima or need some tips to go a bit further on development of ideas.  So many people contributed to this book!  He really hopes it will be used as an educational tool, and that it becomes a conversation piece to continue machinima discussions in education, art and media circles.  Let's keep some conversation going in this group on what's going on with machinima tips on learning or connections with any form of machinima education.   (I launched a student chapter in May, that will go into full swing this Fall, as well as already teaching machinima in RL across a variety of game platforms -  my students hope to connect to other universities, and I hope to get them involved in our guild here! :) Soni
