I just wanted to express my concern and sympathy for our Japanese machinimatographers. I am sure we are all worried about you, and hope that you are safe. I have always wanted to come to Japan and I admire the artistry of your country, and your work on machinima and in Second Life. You're in our thoughts and prayers.

A friend of a friend is having her club's 3rd anniversary party and wants a machinimist to film it. It is a 6 hour long event, starting at noon SLT, but I believe she understands if someone can't work that long.
She told me she needs 10-15 minutes of video compiled from the various activities, including djs, singers, and a "showdance group."
I'm not qualified for this kind of gig but thought someone else may want to take it on. Tikaf… Continue

In a video I posted earlier this week I indicated that I was using a new strategy for having smooth camera movements in my videos. I claimed I wasn't using a joystick or space navigator. In reality, I am using the keyboard.
This technology doesn't replace either the joystick or space navigator, and it forces you to shoot videos more like the movies, where there is a scene and a specific camera shot, then a new scene and new camera shot. In that mode, you can do complex… Continue

I originally created blog after developing the "Expressions of Imagination" video, in hopes that others could take advantage it. I've now posted the entire contents of the blog in MAG for the same reasons. If you see any errors, omissions or suggestions, feel free to make them.
Have Fun - Ginger
Well isn't this fun ... yet another way to express my creativity, if The Chamber and Quantum Matrix weren't enough, there is now Machinima.… Continue

Someone sent me a message on YouTube which lead to this Ning.
I'm know for my documentaries in SL with my communities of New Babbage and the SLC & SL Goonies. I don't put much thought into staged machinema. For one thing my films are mostly documenting events I've organised in SL. another thing is that my hardware can't handle the state of the art SL graphics such as shadows and lighting.
I often watch the other machinemists doing wonderful staged films in SL and… Continue

This was my entry into the 48hr file project contest.
I made the entire film by myself over the course of a very hectic weekend. :-) Enjoy!http://aviewtv.com/videos/3130/moondust-films-unforeseen-%28film-de-femme%29

This has been an exhausting, but exciting week. Team Running Lady entered the 48 Hour Film Project competition, but alas, did not make it in time. But we were still eligible to compete with the other films for the Audience Choice award...and came in first place!!
But that's not all. Turns out, our team can make a film in 48 hours, because we turned around and created a film for the University of Western Australia's Machinima challenge the… Continue

If you haven't already noticed, we are now accepting limited advertising and sponsership to offset some of the new NING subscription charges.
You have my word that most of our page real estate will still deal with machinima and the features we have all come to love such as the forums, blogs and media.
I will limit large banners to only 4 total and there will be some opportunities for right side column mini-banners as well.
Thanks for your patience… Continue

Some members have written to me, concerned with the upcoming changes in the Ning platform and what it will mean to our website.
Be rest assured the MAG website will remain intact and we will migrate along with our sister site the "Professional Machinima Artist Guild" onto the new service structure offered by Ning, our web host. This offers the "best" solution so that we do not suffer content loss or other hassles.
In the event that the Ning platform no longer offers hosting… Continue

As probably most who have worked with the Viewer 2.0 know the suppression of the UI is only partial... it leaves the menu bar visible. Please consider taking a moment to wander over to this link and voting: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-17009
