I was very thrilled that Pooky Media made a machinima for my sister's place of work. I made a call for it here, and she saw it or someone passed it along. I'm very grateful. She told me that it was the first Public Service Announcement to use a virtual environment period, and one made in Second Life no less! Here's the link which Pooky said I could share:
She worked with my sister on the story. Carol Anne works at the San Gabriel Valley Mosquito and Vector Association in southern California as an educational representative giving lectures to the community about pests. She said it's one thing to TALK to a bunch of children (zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz <-- their inattention; NOT the buzz of mosquitoes) but another to be able to show them an animated feature where they really perked up. She said the entire room was quiet when she ran it. The Asian Tiger mosquito poses a fairly ominous threat as it spreads around the southern states (lyme disease, dengue, etc.) Pooky and her team made this AWESOME film. What a marvelous collaboration. It really shows how Second Life in particular is a grand platform for animation anywhere. Thank you POOKY!! And thank you M.A.G.
