Another in the Crossroads series; Lloth, queen of the drow and goddess of the underdark, begins her campaign to conquer Crossroads. This scene will follow the Ravenal falling scene. Lloth and her drider (human/spider hybrids) are NPC (non-player characters) in the Crossroads SIMs of SecondLife. She’s loosely based on the D&D character.

Here's the tech: shot with a nVidia graphics card, edited with Premiere and enhanced using vReveal. Moving text and credit roll created using GIMP with stills uploaded as *.tga files. The final upload into NING was via an MPEG2 file.

I had a lot of fun doing the character design on these avatars. Drows have dark (shading light blue-purple to coal black) skins and fair hair, which can make them a challenge to shoot in dark environments. Lots of greenscreen used here; shot Lloth close-ups on greenscreen and then superimposed the landscapes behind her.

Thanks Lowe. I use vReveal to do enhancement and color correction, but find that if I get the Windlight settings the way I want and then reapply them consistently, I don't have to do much color correction in the final edit.

And yes ...spiders have that effect on lots of people, which is part of what makes Drow interesting fictional characters ...the both worship and fear them.

I have a natural fear of spiders. Could tell many funny stories about encounters with them abroad. Like the vignetting effect and how you keep your colors standardized throughout the video. I struggle with this in my work.
